Mehmet Akif Ersoy House and MuseumAccording to the Ottoman records and the Republic records found in the MERNIS system, there is no doubt that Mehmet Akif Ersoy was born on July 1, 1873, in Bayramiç.
Mehmet Akif Ersoy, born in 1873 as the child of Emine Şerif Hanım, a daughter of a family coming from Bukhara to Anatolia, and Mehmet Tahir Efendi, who was born in Kosovo and was a medrese (theological school) teacher. His childhood was spent in Bayramiç. However, when Mehmet Akif was 11 years old, his father was transferred to Istanbul due to a change in his position as an imam in Karşıyaka Mosque, and the family migrated to Istanbul.

The house where his family lived in Bayramiç was purchased by Bayramiç Municipality and rebuilt in 2016. Mehmet Akif Ersoy's house is a two-story, five-room building. The interior design of the house, created after restoration, reflects the social and cultural structure of that period. The museum house showcases many information and documents related to Mehmet Akif Ersoy.

Additionally, on the ground floor of the museum, there is a wax sculpture symbolizing the moment when Emine Şerif Hanım sits at her desk. On the second floor of the museum, there are reenactments of Mehmet Tahir Efendi sitting on a sedir (traditional Turkish seating) and a portrayal of Mehmet Akif Ersoy at the age of 11.

Furthermore, in a special room on this floor, there is a reenactment of Mehmet Akif Ersoy sitting at his working desk, checking his writings, and reading newspapers. On one corner of the table, there is a large-sized printed version of his identity card, and in another corner, there is his work called "Safahat," which is a compilation of poems from seven poetry books he published between 1911 and 1933. The museum also exhibits numerous antique items brought by the residents of the district.
